Creativity and Wellbeing Week 2024: A Mindful Look at Reynolds' Portraits

Date  Wednesday 22 May 2024
Time 13.00-13.45 BST
Location Online (Zoom)
Speaker Lucia van der Drift, for Limina Collective

This online session invites you to create some time in your day for close and perhaps joyful connection with one artwork. To mark Creativity and Wellbeing Week 2024, we’ll use a painting by Reynolds as the focus for guided mindfulness practice. The session starts with a short guided mindful pause. This is followed by looking with mindfulness at Reynolds’ portrait Miss Nelly O’Brien.

This event marks Creativity and Wellbeing Week 2024 and is complemented by an in person mindful looking session on Saturday 25 May.

About the speaker: Lucia van der Drift is an experienced teacher and writer in mindfulness, meditation and Buddhism who specialises in mindful art engagement and guided meditation. Lucia contributes to the emerging international field of mindfulness in museums through her work with Limina Collective.

Watch online: This event will be broadcast live from the museum. Online ticketholders will be emailed a link to join 24 hours in advance. Ticketholders will also receive a link to view a recording of the event, which will be available for two weeks only.
