Travel back to 18th- and 19th-century Lucknow, when the North Indian city was at the height of courtly culture and artistic excellence. A crossroads for artists, artisans and wealthy elites, the city developed its own distinctive identity rooted in cultural exchange and exquisite craftsmanship. Through close looking at dazzling art and architecture from Lucknow, we’ll explore the rise and fall of the ruling family who asserted their authority through artistic patronage.

Led by world experts in conjunction with our Swords of Lucknow display, take this unique opportunity to be introduced to this cosmopolitan powerhouse through a diverse range of art forms.

Joining Information and Format: This course will be taught through Zoom Webinar. Each course session duration is 120 minutes, including a five-minute break and Q&A session with the tutor.  

Tickets are for all dates of this course. Ticketholders will be emailed the Zoom link, Webinar ID and Passcode 24 hours in advance of the first course session, which should be retained for accessing all sessions.   

Course Recording: This course will be recorded. Within 48 hours of each course session, ticket holders will be emailed a link to view the recording, which will be available for two weeks.
